The Annual Chromosome 18 Conference 2019: Part 8

Hey, everyone! I just got back to Colorado Springs from the conference on July 27th. This blog post is a summary of what I did at the annual Chromosome 18p- conference this year. In case you are wondering, these are Thomas’s, Camilla’s, mine, and Chromosome 18’s website.

July 25th: 

I woke up around 7:00 am but fell back to sleep until 10:00 am. I was half asleep when I heard Thomas and Camilla. I overheard Thomas asking a question and Camilla answering the question.

I took about 24 minutes to eat some breakfast then I messaged Macy (Macy, I’m glad I was still able to hang out with you while I was sick. See you next year!) around 10:24 am.

Then I messaged Patty about sandals. Shortly after that, I received a message from Lauren (I had a fun time with you although I was sick. See you next year!) asking if I wanted her to come up to say bye to me.

I got ready for Patty to pick me up and around 1:21 pm Macy messaged me saying she was at the airport. Right around 1:32 pm, she messaged me saying they were in line to board.

Right at 12:51 pm, Macy (thanks, Macy for keeping me updated when I didn’t have my laptop; left it in the hotel room that day) let me know she’d be flying soon. I looked at Facebook while waiting for Patty.

Right around 1:30, I was in Patty and Frank’s car when Macy let me know that they were in the air. Then Lauren told me at 2:57 pm that she’d be on the airplane soon and asked what I was doing.

At the time I was at a fast food place called Outback with Debbie, Patty, and Frank. And at 3:00pm, I let Lauren know when we leave for Reno.

Macy messaged us again and Lauren updated us saying she was on the airplane. Macy asked Lauren what airline she was flying. Then Macy let me know that they had about an hour before they landed.

During that time, we were going into stores and Trader Joe’s. And Lauren let us know that she had 2 hours before they landed. Lauren then asked us how we were doing. Then Macy let us know that they were landing soon.

Then Macy told us her airplane had landed.  During all this, I headed back to the Colorado Springs Marriott. And Macy let me know she was on her way back to her home.

About 42 minutes later, she was at her home. After I ate a small dinner, packed, and went swimming. Later, Lauren updated us and said she was on her way to her home. And asked what time it was for us girls.

I then got stressed about a piece of clothing. After, I felt delirious and tired. I then went to get ready for bed. Stayed up until my eyes wouldn’t stay open then I got up and got ready for bed then I fell asleep.

A Brave Girl

Hey, everyone! I wrote this story on July 5th inspired by a daydream I had for a year. The character’s name is based on Macy Miller (a close 18p- friend of mine). I hope you enjoy!

Once long ago, there lived a young girl named Macy Helens who was afraid to fly on an airplane. One day though, her parents who were named Hannah and William announced that they were going on a family vacation but they needed to take an airplane to their destination.

Hannah had made a smart decision to use this vacation to help Macy get over her fears of flying. So Macy was scared but she knew she had to overcome her fears eventually. So Macy agreed to go. They left the next morning.

First, they went through TFA (The Fairy Association which is similar to TSA) and Macy wasn’t even scared but she was proud of herself. Macy handled the searching for a gate number, waiting, and the walking quite easily. The hardest thing was getting on the plane but she told herself not to look down.

It worked perfectly. Once they were about to take off, Macy was afraid of the steep incline that what she did was look out the window for familiar sights. Macy saw circular rainbows, a beautiful sunset, and a gorgeous sunrise as well. She was very impressed. Finally, their flight landed and Macy was very happy and proud.

Annual Chromosome 18 Conference 2018 Part 4

Hey, everyone! I just got back from a trip to Baltimore for the annual Chromosome 18 conference. This blog post is a summary of what I did at the Chromosome 18p- conference this year. July 2nd: 

I woke up at 8:35 am. In just over a minute, Macy came up with Camilla. So I finished eating breakfast, put on clothes, and put the stuff back in my bag. The final thing I did was put on the name tag.

Macy asked if I wanted to explore the hallways of almost every floor of the hotel. Unfortunately, we ran out of time because Macy needed to be in a certain room at 11:00 am.

So we headed back to the 5th floor so Macy could go to the public restrooms around 10:50 am. Once Macy was in the certain room, I sat down for a minute before heading back up to the room. I came right back down at 11:10 am and we continued to explore the hallways where we left off.

At 11:30 am, we went back to the 5th floor. Once Macy was back in that certain room, I sat for about 5 minutes before going back up again. It wasn’t until 11:50 am that I went back down again.

At 11:30 am, I got stuck in line for lunch but managed to get out of line once Camilla got there. I wanted to sit with Macy but I couldn’t find her so I got out of the sunny area so I could not overheat. During that time, I Facebook Messaged Macy to see if she had finished eating.

Apparently, she was just finishing eating her cookie. So I waited and by 1:00 pm Macy found me with Camilla. So we decided to go up to both Macy’s hotel room and my hotel room.

Eventually, we went back to the 5th floor again. At 1:30 pm, Macy went back to the certain room. So I went up to the room again, I kept coming down though. At 3:00 pm, Macy snuck out of the certain room because it was too loud so we continued exploring the hotel floors.

At 3:30 pm, Macy went back to a certain room and I stayed down there until Macy came out at 3:45 pm and explored a floor until 4:15 pm when we went down to the lobby.

I had enough time to get my sunglasses and go back down to the lobby. So then I waited with other friends beside Macy. At 5:00 pm, we walked over to the Cheesecake Factory as a group.

Once the leader of this group announced we should be split into 9 groups. Macy and I offered to be in the nicest group.  The only thing was all of us didn’t want to wait. So we went to Build-A-Bear Workshop (don’t really care for the place) to wait. We walked back at 6; 00 pm and sat in 6 booths.

So we ordered dinner and I ordered apple juice, water, and french fries with some help from my friends. Some of my friends ordered dessert but I didn’t since I was full. Anyway, one of my friends helped with the math.

Once we got back, we all went up to our rooms so we could put our leftovers away. So once I went up to the room, I texted Camilla to see where she was. She said she was at the pool with Thomas.

So I went down to the pool to talk to Camilla. Anyway, I checked with Macy to see if she would go swimming. She was thinking about going swimming. She said she was getting her swimsuit on so I went up to the room to get mine on.

I came straight back down to go to the pool. I got in but it was too cold for me and for Macy it was too loud. I also tried the jacuzzi but the jacuzzi was too hot. So Macy went to bed and I went down to the lobby to see if there was any action happening down there.

I also stopped by the 5th floor to see if anyone was down there but there wasn’t so I went back up. I took a bath and got ready for bed. I went to sleep at 1:00 am exactly.

My Adventure To Surprise Part 13

Hey, everyone! I went to Surprise, AZ for the end of May/beginning of June with my grandparents (also known as The Romano Duo). I would just like to share my adventure with you. By the way, some of the times aren’t accurate. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy!

June 9th, 2018:

I woke up at 7:10 am and we got into the car at 9:00 am but we stopped by the store so Frank could get gas, Patty could get breakfast, and have fun. Anyway, at 10:00 am we were on our way.

The Motel 6 had some decent beds. I was really comfy at 7:10 am so I didn’t want to get up at all. I knew that I had to get up sooner or later though. Once I was out of bed, I was very relaxed and refreshed.

At 12:00 pm, Frank stopped at a gas station. I also ate my lunch when Frank stopped at the gas station. After 12:00 pm, we drove to Fernley and saw the Love’s gas station where Frank stopped for gas the last time.

I saw the mountains that hide Reno and Sparks shortly around 2:26 pm which is always awesome to see. Around the same time, we arrived back in Reno. This is where the 2-week vacation ends.

My Adventure To Surprise Part 8

Hey, everyone! I went to Surprise, AZ for the end of May/beginning of June with my grandparents (also known as The Romano Duo). I would just like to share my adventure with you. By the way, some of the times aren’t accurate. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy!

June 3rd, 2018: 

I woke up at 10:00 am that day. After breakfast, I got ready to go to Michael’s. After I got ready, I went into the bedroom to put on my sandals. After I got my water, we headed to the car.

We went to Trader Joe’s before Michael’s to get some more food for me. After we got back in the car, we headed to Michael’s so Frank could drop Patty and me off at Michael’s while Frank went to Wal-Mart.

We took our time looking and found a giant coloring book and a wooden birdhouse to paint as well as some special pens and dual markers. After we finished, we explored and winded up finding me more canvas for paintings.

By the time we were done at Michael’s, it was 3:00 pm so I had a short lunch and saved the rest as a snack.

It was 4:00 pm when I was eating but at 4:30 pm, I was hungry again so I ate the rest as a snack. I was still hungry when dinner was ready so I was able to eat a lot.

After dinner, Patty found a movie for us to watch. After the movie was over, I started my schedule. Once again, I was able to get into bed at 10:00 pm.

I went to sleep around 1:00 pm that night.

May 28th, 2018:

I woke up at 9:00 am and since that day was Memorial Day I just hung around their house all day until lunch and dinner. I also worked on a blog post: https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/06/04/fundraising-for-the-2018-chromosome-18-family-conference-rainbow-mandala/. After dinner, I just hung out some until 12:00 am that night. After I got in the bed, I read and played games on my phones until around 12:30 am.

May 29th, 2018:

I woke up early again. I just hung around the house for a while and was very excited to hang out with Katie the next day. Anyway, I made plans to try my new swimsuit on in the morning and Patty and I also made plans to go to Walmart to look for clothing.

I also worked on a blog post which is: https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/06/04/fundraising-for-the-2018-chromosome-18-family-conference-rainbow-mandala/ while I was down visiting Patty and Frank (the Romano Duo).

I stayed awake late but made sure to wake up early enough to give me enough time in the morning. So, I went to sleep.

My Adventure To Surprise Part 3

Hey, everyone! I went to Surprise, AZ for the end of May/beginning of June with my grandparents (also known as The Romano Duo). I would just like to share my adventure with you. By the way, some of the times aren’t accurate. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy!

May 27th, 2018: 

I woke up not knowing where I was for a second then decided to look on my phone and time said 7:00 am so I just laid there until 7:30 am and then I went to the restroom. Afterward, I had Patty make my brunch (since it was almost lunch time) and I ate it all.

After I finished, we went to Kohl’s and found me some new clothing. After I got back, I was hungry so I ate a snack. It was 4:58 pm when I finished my snack. Luckily though, we didn’t eat dinner until 6:00 pm.

About the same time I was eating the snack, I worked on a blog post: https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/05/29/fundraising-for-the-2018-chromosome-18-family-conference-rainbow-of-emotions/. I also arranged to see one of my friends named Katie who lived in Glendale, AZ at around 6:00 with help from Patty and Camilla. So I was excited about that.

After that, I went back to what I was doing (which was coding). After, I waited until midnight to do my schedule. So it was around 1:00 am when I went to bed that night but I stayed awake until 2:00 am that night.

My Adventure To Surprise Part 2

Hey, everyone! I went to Surprise, AZ for the end of May/beginning of June with my grandparents (also known as The Romano Duo). I would just like to share my adventure with you. By the way, some of the times aren’t accurate. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy!

May 26th, 2018: 

I woke up at 7:00 am that day giving me enough time to get ready to go and eat some of my breakfast. After I got almost halfway done with my morning routine, Patty went outside and said she saw donkeys (burros) across the dirt road eating grass at an empty park.

Patty wanted to know if I wanted to see the donkeys and I said sure. And sure enough, I saw the donkeys. Anyway at 10:00 am PDST, Frank of the Romano Duo (my grandfather) and Patty, as well as me, were ready to be on our way to Surprise again.

So we got back in the car, I was mostly quiet but when we passed Las Vegas and Hoover Dam Frank said, “We’ll be passing the Nevada border soon.” I said, “Yes, I know.” as I already been through there twice.

Around 12:15 pm (my preferred lunchtime) to 1:00 pm, we stopped in Kingman, AZ to go to the restroom in Burger In-N-Out and Patty had Frank go get me some french fries. After he was done, Frank drove over to the nearest gas station so Patty could get the rest of the food for me and get gas for Frank and Patty’s car.

After 13 minutes, we were in Arizona desert. Eventually, at 1:27, I asked Patty and Frank for the estimated time we had left and Frank said, “At least 2 hours or 1 and a half hours.” At that point, I mentally started a time check and looked out the window for the first sign of Surprise, AZ.

Around 2:44 pm, I asked again and Frank said, “Less than an hour.” as 3:00 pm was getting closer and I was very excited. At 2:50 pm, there were only 16 minutes left until we arrived. At 2:58 pm, there were 10 minutes left. At 3:00 pm, I was looking out the window at Surprise, AZ.

At 3:10 pm, we arrived in Surprise, AZ. My calmness returned when I stepped into Patty’s and Frank’s house but I needed to go to the restroom so I had Patty show me the master bathroom.

Anyway, when I was just talking to Patty in Patty and Frank’s bedroom, my uncle Robert  (who I never met) walked in to say he needed to go to the grocery store. Finally, he noticed and Patty introduced us.

I was kind of shy at first (I usually can be but it doesn’t last long). Fortunately, Patty had to go to Trader Joe’s to find the stuff on the list and I volunteered to go with them. So we all got in the car to Trader Joe’s and Wal-Mart (don’t really care for Wal-Mart).

Surprisingly, we were back at the house in 30 minutes. Anyway, I asked Patty for her laptop so I could easily code and look at Accuweather. Of course at 4:00 pm or more, Patty and Frank started making dinner. We had dinner at 7:00 pm though.

After the dinner, I decided to chill out and rest some while talking to Patty and Frank. After some time had passed, I went ahead and got ready for bed. Of course, I stayed up late (that happened the whole time). Once, I got into bed I read and played games on my phones until 12:30 am when I got up to put my water away.

After I turned out the light and my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep immediately.

How Donuts Came To Be

Hey, everyone! As you know, summer is coming up (for some) so in honor of National Donut Day and First Day of Summer, I’ve decided to create a special summer story. I hope you enjoy!

Once there lived a donut named Sprinkles who loved to play in her huge backyard. Meanwhile, there lived a popsicle named Lemona who loved to drink lemonade and sing all day.

One day, Sprinkles invited Lemona to her backyard for a summer party. Sprinkles had also invited her donut friends.

Lemona arrived first to the backyard shortly after Sprinkles had sent out the invitation to Lemona. Sprinkles was very surprised when she saw Lemona coming to the backyard.

“Am I early to the summer party?”, asked Lemona. “Yes, you are early. I suppose I could use some help and a friend too.”, said Sprinkles truthfully.

“Sure, I would love to help you set up your summer party. “, said Lemona honestly. After a hour had past, Sprinkles’ donut friends started to arrive. A couple minutes later, Lemona’s popsicle friends started to arrive as well which was a big surprise for Lemona.

Sprinkles’ friends commented, “What an awesome party! We should come to your parties more often, Sprinkle!”. Sprinkle said, “Thank you! I couldn’t have done it without Lemona.”

Lemona’s friends remarked, “I agree, what an amazing party! We should go to parties all the time.” Lemona said, “Thank you! I’m the one who set up the party.”

Unfortunately, the fun had to end too soon. When Lemona hugged Sprinkles, chocolate got on her icy dress. While Sprinkles got lemon juice on her, she was happy that her party was a sucess. So if you see a donut that tasted like a popsicle, that might be Sprinkles and Lemona.

Queen Of Earth

Hey, everyone! On April 22nd which was Earth Day, I felt inspired to write a story about the Earth. Once long ago, there lived a girl named Alana who loved to smell the Earth and talk to the Earth. Her parents were King Hendricks and Queen Dahlia. Her parents reigned the Earth together.

Many years went by and Alana grew into a young lady. One day when Alana was picking flowers and the Earth spoke.  Earth asked, “How would you like to be my queen like your mother when you’re older?”.

Alana said, “Yes, Earth!”. A couple more years went by, and Alana was now the queen of Earth. Alana’s queen name is Queen Eve but her real name was still Alana for non-formal events.

Alana married Stellen a couple of years later and the Earth even invited him to be the King like Alana’s father years ago. So Alana and Stellen reigned the Earth just like Alana’s parents did many years ago.

Stellen’s king name was Marthur but just like Alana, his real name was still Stellen for non-formal events. A year passed and the couple had a baby. Her name was Lalani. The Earth liked Lalani’s name.

Lalani lived the same life as her parents and her grandparents before her. So if you hear voices inside the Earth, that might be Latani and her family. That’s the end of the story. I hope you enjoyed!
