Poems Of Nature

Hey, everyone! As you know, March 21st is World Poetry Day. I’ve decided to write a poem and add a poem from last year and this year to celebrate. Here are some related blog posts: https://lilliandarnell.com/2016/10/17/lillians-triple-poems/https://lilliandarnell.com/2014/03/13/easter-poems/,  https://lilliandarnell.com/2014/03/12/what-am-i-poems/, and https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/03/21/fun-poem-extravaganza/. I hope you enjoy!

Here’s the first poem I wrote March 21st, 2018:

A flower blooms in
the midst of winter
knowingly lasting

Forever running in
a sea of white
as the sun shines.

As its golden petals laid its petals
softly to its soft comfy bed as
it rests in winter.

Here’s the second poem that I wrote in March 21st, 2017:

Birds dance in the breeze like ballet dancers
Flowers flow from trees like a waterfall
Trees dance in the sea of grass

Here’s the third poem that I wrote today:

Flowers shine bright

through the gloomy winter

Into the glorious spring weather.

Flowers flow like a sparkling river

Through the snow and rain

As a welcoming robin ready to mate.

Flowers dance gracefully in the windy day

Of gloom and sunshine

Flowers thankfully drink water

from it’s thirsty roots.

Here’s the fourth poem that I wrote today:

Butterflies are dancing

In the ocean blue sky

Like a hummingbird floating

In an ocean

Of flowers dancing to water

And wind.

Here’s the final poem also from March 21st, 2018:

Water is a land
of freedom

Freedom is a gift
of emotion and pride.

While pride is a sea
full of joy.

Emotion is an ocean
full of joy and happiness
with anger and sad falling behind it

As water waves
like a sea of freedom
knowing its beauty awaits.

That’s the end of Poems Of Nature. I hope you enjoyed!

Two lovely daffodils growing from a plant.

Two beautiful daffodils

Lillian’s Triple Poems

Hey, everyone! I’ve decided to put together 3 poems for you to read. I got inspired by Leap Into Poetry by Avis Harley. I hope you enjoy!

Alliteration:

Moons meet mountains.

Simile:

The sun rises like a bright flashlight. The moon rises like a beaming light. The sun sets as a wink in the sky. The moon sets as a vanilla cookie in the awakening sky.

Riddle:

I’m awake in the nighttime. I sleep during the daytime light. I watch the sunset and the sunrise every day and night. Can you guess who I am?

Yes-No Poem (Just answer yes or no to the questions):

Are sunsets colorful? Are sunrises beautiful? Are sunsets breathtaking? Are sunrises full of color? Do sunsets and sunrises rise and set at the same time?

Life (A Poem from Mother Teresa).

Shadows Are Always There

Hi there, everyone! This free verse poem is about shadows. Hope you enjoy!

Shadows

Shadows are the darkness of day.
Shadows are the eclipses of the day.
Shadows are almost always there.

Shadows are fast as a cheetah.
Shadows are entertaining like a prism.
Shadows are bright like a rainbow.

Shadows are from the sun.
Shadows are from the super moon.
Shadows are from the bright stars.

Shadows are awesome.
Shadows are funny.
Shadows appear everywhere at one point.
