Starry Life

Hey, there! I had been wanting to write a story about stars recently. Here are some related stories: https://lilliandarnell.com/2016/07/11/reach-for-stars/ and https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/03/23/why-trees-dance-in-the-wind/. So I hope you enjoy the story!

Once many centuries ago, there lived a starry-eyed princess who wore shiny and shimmery gold, white. and silver dresses. The princess longed to know what stars’ life would be like.

The princess’ name was Starry-Goldie. Starry liked anything that had to do with stars. One day, Starry went to her sister, Princess Spark-Animalie who was nicknamed Judi or Judy for short.

Starry said, “Please tell me what the stars’ life is like, Judy. Can I go up to the sky to find out for myself? “. “I can’t exactly tell you what the stars’ life is like, Goldi. Yes, you can go up to the sky to find out for yourself under one condition. You must promise to be back by dawn tomorrow”, said Spark as she walked off to her personal library.

Starry promised she would be back by dawn tomorrow. So Starry went to her bedroom to pack some of her gorgeous dresses and other essential stuff she needed for her trip. After Starry finished packing, she decided to leave this afternoon as she knew that where the stars live is pretty far from where she lived.

Starry flew up into the sky slowly and knew she would be back on time. So by the time, Starry reached the part of the sky where the stars lived, it was early evening where she lived.

Starry went to go find Staricial, the leader of stars. When she found Staricial, Starry said, “Hi, there! I came from planet Earth and I’ve seen you look down at the Earth every night. I had been wondering what your stars’ life is like. Also before I forget, I have very limited time tonight.”

“Greetings! I’ve seen you look up every night at me and my stars. How would you like to be a star for a night? I know, I’ve heard that you have only until dawn tomorrow before you head home. I’ve got to give you a warning though. If you forget to go back home to Earth by dawn, you’ll be a star forever. “, said Staricial in a deep booming voice.

Starry said, “Great, I would love to be a star for a night. I will also try to remember that warning. Thank you!”. So Staricial granted her to be a star for the night. Meanwhile, Spark was looking up at the sky wondering if the new star was Starry.

Starry got know star people and instantly knew that she had been one of the star people long ago. Anyway, Starry got so caught up in meeting star people that Starry had forgotten to head back to Earth by dawn.

By the time Starry realized that she needed to be on Earth, it was already too late. Starry needed someone to tell Spark what happened to her. Luckily, a white horse told Starry she would love to deliver a message to Spark. So Starry wrote her message down.

The white horse flew down to Earth to find Spark to show her the message. Naturally, Spark was very ashamed of what her sister did but she was also very glad that Starry found her previous family. Starry said that she wanted to change her name to Star to match her location.

Now Starry always looks down at Spark while Spark looks up at Starry throughout the evening. Every night before Spark goes to bed, she says Goodnight to Starry. If you ever see a star at night, chances are it might be Starry looking down at her relatives on Earth.

That’s the end of the story. I hope you enjoyed my story!

Why Trees Dance In The Wind

Hey, everyone! I got inspired by the trees dancing in the wind recently to write a story about it. Anyway, here’s a few related blog posts: https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/03/22/how-the-sea-expanded/https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/03/20/how-flowers-got-their-color/, and https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/03/19/what-if-rainbows-were-magical/. I hope you enjoy!

Once long ago there lived an apple tree who felt that something was missing. But the apple tree didn’t know what was missing. The apple tree’s name was Applicious. So Applicious went to Cherryilious the Cherry tree for help.

Cherryilious said, “Welcome, Applicious! I’ve heard that you know something is missing. Unfortunately, I don’t know what’s missing either. Maybe Windyicious the Wind Flower would know.”

Applicious said, “Ok, thank you anyway. I must get going to Windyicious’s place. Bye, Cherryilious!” So Applicious went to Windyicious for any ideas. Windyicious said, “What can I do to help you today, Miss Applicious?”

Applicious said, “Cherryilious sent me. I wanted to know what was missing. Do you know why?” Windyicious laughed and said, “Yes, I think I know. You aren’t feeling the wind moving through your branches, are you?”

Applicious responded, “Yes, that’s what is missing. Now, I have 1 last question. How am I supposed to feel the wind flowing through my branches?” “Well, just sway lightly like this.”, Windyicious said as he swayed a little.

Applicious said, “Thank you for showing me how to feel the wind flowing through my branches. Now, I must go.” So Applicious stopped by Cherryilious’s place to teach her what Windyicious taught Applicious.

.After Applicious left, she directly went home and how she danced and swayed in the wind. And from that day on, the trees were very happy. So if you ever see trees swaying in the wind that may have been Applicious and Cherryilious. That’s the end of the story. I hope you enjoyed the story!

How The Sea Expanded

Hey, everyone! In honor of World Water Day, I decided to write this story you are about to be reading. Here are some related stories: https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/03/21/fun-poem-extravaganza/https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/03/19/what-if-rainbows-were-magical/, and https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/02/26/why-trees-sparkle-with-water/. I hope you enjoy!

Once there lived a puddle of water called Juice Icicle who really wanted to be big and flowing largely. So one day, she asked his friend Jamba Drink how she could get large and flowing largely.

Jamba said, “Sure, let’s talk to Jaya about this big dream of yours.” So Juice and Jamba went to Jaya Mamba to talk to Juice’s big dream about being bigger and flow largely. When they arrived, Jaya said, “I’ve heard that Juice has this big dream of being bigger and flow largely. I can grant your wish but you must be careful.”

Juice said, “Ok, I’ll be really careful.” And Jaya said, “Great, I wish for Juice be big and flow largely.” So Juice was transformed into a sea of water. When Juice came to his home, she was so thirsty that she drank a lot of water. By mistake, she turned into an ocean.

So Juice went to Jaya once again. Jaya said kindly, “I’m sorry but I cannot fix the mistake you made but you can make the best out of being the ocean.” Juice bravely said, “I will make the best out of being the ocean.”

So if you see a puddle, sea, or ocean today chances are it is Juice. That’s the end of the story, I hope you enjoy!

Fun Poem Extravaganza

Hey, everyone! As you know, March 21st is World Poetry Day. I’ve decided to write a poem and add a poem from last year and this year to celebrate. Here are some related blog posts: https://lilliandarnell.com/2016/10/17/lillians-triple-poems/https://lilliandarnell.com/2014/03/13/easter-poems/, and https://lilliandarnell.com/2014/03/12/what-am-i-poems/. I hope you enjoy!

Here’s the first poem I wrote today:

A flower blooms in
the midst of winter
knowingly lasting

Forever running in
a sea of white
as the sun shines.

As its golden petals laid its petals
softly to its soft comfy bed as
it rests in winter.

Here’s the second poem that I wrote last year:

Birds dance in the breeze like ballet dancers
Flowers flow from trees like a waterfall
Trees dance in the sea of grass

Here’s the final poem:

Water is a land
of freedom

Freedom is a gift
of emotion and pride.

While pride is a sea
full of joy.

Emotion is an ocean
full of joy and happiness
with anger and sad falling behind it

As water waves
like a sea of freedom
knowing its beauty awaits.

That’s the end of the poem extravaganza. I hope you enjoyed!

How Flowers Got Their Color

Hey, everyone! Since March 20th is the first day of spring this year, I decided to do a flower story. Here are some other blog posts that are related: https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/03/19/what-if-rainbows-were-magical/https://lilliandarnell.com/2017/04/24/fairy-shadows/, and https://lilliandarnell.com/2017/04/10/princess-beauty/. I hope you enjoy!

Once long ago, there lived a tree called Magic Olaf and in that tree was tons of flower colors that Magic didn’t know what to do with. One day, Rose said, “Do you mind if I grab 2 colors for the game?”. Magic said, “Sure, you can. I was just trying to figure out what I should do with these colors. ”

“Thank you, Magic! I will have my flower friends pick some colors too which will fix your problem,” suggested Rose as she walked off with the colors pink and red. Shortly after Rose said those words, Dandelion walked up and asked, “May I have the yellow and neon orange for the game?” and Magic said, “Yes, you may.”

So Dandelion grabbed yellow and orange while Daffodil grabbed pale yellow and creamy yellow. So Rose wrapped the red color around the outside of her petals and the pink on the inside of her petals and she had borrowed a beautiful green to wrap around the stem.

The other flowers including Dandelion and Daffodil were doing the same as Rose. The game was to camouflage into the color they matched. Little did they know that an evil flower fairy put roots on all the flowers and they stayed with the colors they chose except the colors had melted into the ground.

So if you see any pretty colored flowers, chances are that they were in the game many years ago. That’s the end of the story. I hope you enjoyed this story! I also hope this story got you into a springy mood!

What If Rainbows Were Magical?

Hey, everyone! Last week, I saw a rainbow on me through a prism and I wondered about what would happen if rainbows could heal aches and pains. So I came up with this story you are about to read. By the way, here are some related stories:https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/02/26/why-trees-sparkle-with-water/https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/02/02/how-rain-came-to-be-natures-glitter/, and https://lilliandarnell.com/2017/03/09/angel-island/. I hope you enjoy!

Once long ago, a little girl had scratched her arm and her guardian angel came to her and said, “See this rainbow? If you touch your arm to the rainbow, it will call my presence into the rainbow and heal you.”

So the little girl touched her arm to the rainbow and to her amazement, she saw a beautiful glow coming from the rainbow and the glow was on her arm where the scratch had been.

Many years passed and the little girl was now 16 and her name is Sparkle. Sparkle wondered how she could have the rainbow heal everyone’s aches and pains. She decided to make her own rainbow to help her adjust her theories and ideas.

Finally, Sparkle had the final result called Magical Rainbow. After she made Magical Rainbow, she began to wonder what would happen if she made food and drinks even more tasty with a rainbow.

Sparkle sprinkled her Magical Rainbow potion onto the food and drinks she could adjust her theories and thoughts. After a lot of tasting, she came up with Tasty Magical Rainbow which is the final result.

After Sparkle made Tasty Magical Rainbow, she wondered how else she could improve both potions. Suddenly she got an awesome idea, she could mix the potions together and add a few touches of rainbows that can do anything.

At long last, Sparkle had her final product called YummyBear Magic Rainbow. Everyone wanted to try the new product. So remember Sparkle whenever a rainbow shines on you or see a rainbow.

That’s the end of the story! I hope you enjoyed the story!

Lillian’s Top 9 Ways To Stay Healthy

Hey, everyone! I decided to do an informative blog post on staying healthy.  Here’s a blog post that relates: https://lilliandarnell.com/2017/01/10/beauty-in-you/. I hope you enjoy!

Food

  1. Eat fruit at least 3 times a day. Dried apricot, pear, and apple are all ideal fruit. If you don’t like fruit you should at least drink a little fruit juice. It always helps if you have a variety of fruit to eat. I eat strawberries, cantaloupe, pineapple when available. I also eat a lot of apples (which is anti-inflammatory) and pear (which is semi anti-inflammatory).
  2. Eat vegetables at least 3 times a day as well. Broccoli, carrot, and cucumber are good choices for vegetables. If you don’t like vegetables, try to drink vegetable juice. I eat carrot, broccoli, cucumber (if available), and beets (if available).

Exercise

  1. Yoga is a great way to stretch your body. Yoga can help you with almost any kind of pain. Do yoga at least 3 days a week. I try to do yoga twice a week.
  2. Swimming is an awesome and fun summer exercise to do. Swimming is a great way to cool off and get plenty exercise. Do swimming at least every other day except on weekends (really it’s up to you) while the pool is open. I try to go almost every day in the summer excluding weekends.
  3. Dancing is a good every day exercise you can do. Dancing can help your muscles get stronger. Do dancing at least once a week. I dance at least once a month.
  4. Walking is a great everyday exercise you can do. Walking is a great way to take in nature. Do walking 3 times a week or more (really it should be up to you). I try to go for walks once a week or more.
  5. Running is a fantastic every day exercise you can do. Running can help your leg muscles get a lot stronger. Do running at least 3 times a week or more (it’s up to you really). I try to run at least once a week.

Drinks

  1. Juice can be a great alternative to water sometimes. Drink at least one cup of not from concrete juice a day. For me, I prefer to have one cup of juice (with water) a day when available. It is also a great help for slushies (in the summer or anytime you eat them).
  2. Drink at least 2 cups of room temperature spring water a day. Water can be used to make a flavorless slushie as well. For me though, I prefer to have 2 cups of water every day.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post!

Why Trees Sparkle with Water

Hey, everyone! On February 13th, I saw the trees sparkle with melted snow and it inspired me to write this story. Here are some other stories: https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/02/02/how-rain-came-to-be-natures-glitter/https://lilliandarnell.com/2016/07/20/a-happy-world/,  and https://lilliandarnell.com/2017/03/09/angel-island/. I hope you enjoy!

Once long ago, there lived a family of trees in a faraway land of Tree Land. The trees names were Pine, Cherry, Apple, and Fire (also known as Delphine). They all lived happily in their home which was called the Palace of Fruit. One day,  an invitation arrived at the Palace of Fruit.

The invitation had said that the Ice King was having a tree ball to find the perfect tree for him to decorate. After the family of trees read the invitation, they knew that they had to have the most beautiful dress ever.

So Cherry and Apple went to Fashionable Blooms Store to look for a gorgeous dress. Meanwhile, Pine and Fire went to Fairytale Blossoms Store for a pretty dress. Cherry and Apple realized that they were in the wrong store so they went to Fairytale Blossoms Store instead.

While Cherry and Apple were at Fairytale Blossoms Store, Pine and Fire also had realized that they had been in the wrong store. So Pine and Fire went to Fashionable Blooms Store instead.

Cherry and Apple found a gorgeous sparkly dress aisle made from ice and snow all made from the Ice King. Cherry found a stunning glittery pink dress while Apple found an identical dress except it was a beautiful neon red color.

Pine and Fire found a flaming nutty dress aisle made from pinecones and fires made by the Fire King and Pine King. Fire found a flaming hot red dress while Pine found a pointy brown pine needle dress. Of course, Fire thought it looked a little dull so Fire sprinkled a bit of pinecone dust with glitter on it.

After Cherry and Apple paid for their dresses, they headed to Tree Lane. As they left, Fire and Pine paid for their dresses and they headed to Tree Lane as well to meet up at Olive’s Treet Diner to eat a celebratory meal together.

At the diner, the family of trees chose a peppermint bark salad with a lemon flavored fruit as a side. The family of trees talked about their dresses and Pine & Fire had admitted that they didn’t care about the Ice King. They did care for Pine King and Fire King who also happened to have a ball the same night.

So the family of trees split up for that big night but the big night wasn’t until the end of the month. The month flew by and the big night came, the family of trees got ready together but they split up so they could go to their balls.

That night when the Ice King saw Cherry and Apple in their stunning dresses, he asked to have an icy tree dance with them both separately. Of course, when the ball came to an end, the Ice King couldn’t decide who to decorate so he chose both Cherry and Apple.

Naturally Apple and Cherry were very surprised when he announced that Apple and Cherry were to live and be decorated at his home. Apple and Cherry glanced at each other wondering if Pine and Fire were having the same reaction at their ball.

Meanwhile, when the Fire King and Pine King saw Pine and Fire, the Fire King asked to have a flaming tree dance with Fire while the Pine King asked to have a pointy tree dance with Pine. When the ball was over, Fire King announced that Fire got to stay with him. While the Pine King announced that Pine got to stay with him.

Fire and Pine asked if they could go tell Apple and Cherry the good news. The Fire King and Pine King both agreed. Meanwhile Apple and Cherry were heading to Cherry’s Treat Palace so they could tell the good news to Cherry and Apple.

Fire and Pine had already been at Cherry’s Treat Palace for an hour when Apple and Cherry showed up. Once Cherry and Apple sat down, Cherry and Apple announced that they get to be decorated and stay with the Ice King.

After Cherry and Apple said their news, Fire announced her news and Pine also shared her news. They congratulated each other and went on their way. So if you see any trees sparkling with water, that is Cherry or Apple.

Penny: See you soon, Lillian! That’s all until next time, you all!

How The Sun Came To Be

Hey, everyone! You’re about to enter an interview with Lady Weather. Here are some other weather-related blog posts: https://lilliandarnell.com/2018/02/02/how-rain-came-to-be-natures-glitter/ and https://lilliandarnell.com/2015/06/05/latest-weather-thunderstorms/. I hope you enjoy!

Lady Wendy Weather: Welcome to Sunny Fields! Are you ready to get started, Mrs. Alice?

Alice: Thank you! Please just call me Alice, Lady Wendy Weather. Yes, I’m so thrilled to get started!

Lady Wendy Weather: Ok then. By the way, please just call me Wendy. Here’s the first question: How did the sun evolve?

Alice: Scientists believe that the sun and the foundation of the solar system were made from an enormous, changing cloud of gas and particles known as the solar nebula. As the nebula gave away because of the force the nebula had, the nebula rotated faster and grew into a disk. A lot of the matter was dragged to the center to create the sun we see today.

Lady Wendy Weather: Wow, that’s very important. How are the sun and its atmosphere divided?

Alice: The sun and its environment are divided into individual zones and bands. The solar center, from the interior out, is formed up of the heart, radiative zone, and the convective zone. The solar air over that consists of the photosphere, chromosphere, a development region and the corona. Behind that is the solar wind, an outpouring of gas from the corona.

Lady Wendy Weather: That’s very informational! How strong is the magnetic field? What is a flare?

Alice: The power of the sun’s magnetic field is usually only about twice as powerful as Earth’s field. Nonetheless, the sun becomes extremely concentrated in small areas, leading up to three thousand times powerful than normal. These difficulties and twists in the magnetic field happen because the sun revolves more swiftly at the tropics than at the larger latitudes and because the internal parts of the sun revolve faster than the exterior. These distortions form features varying from sunspots to thrilling explosions known as flares and coronal mass ejections. Flares are the most powerful eruptions in the solar system, while coronal mass ejections are less powerful but require remarkable amounts of matter which can make a particular ejection spout approximately 20 billion tons (18 billion metric tons) of matter into space.

Lady Wendy Weather: That’s very impressive! Next question: What is the sun made of?

Alice: That is a hard question but luckily I have the answer for you. Here is the answer: Just like utmost additional stars, the sun is formed essentially of hydrogen, accompanied with helium. Nearly all the leftover matter consists of 7 other parts which are oxygen, carbon, neon, nitrogen, magnesium, iron, and silicon. For every 1, 000, 000 molecules of hydrogen in the sun, there are ninety-eight thousand of helium in the sun, eight-hundred fifty of oxygen in the sun, three-hundred sixty of carbon in the sun, a hundred twenty of neon in the sun, a hundred ten of nitrogen in the sun, forty of magnesium in the sun, thirty five of iron in the sun,  and thirty five of silicon. Still, hydrogen is considered the lightest of all elements, so it only values for about seventy-two percent of the sun’s core, while helium forms about twenty-six percent of the sun’s core.

Lady Wendy Weather: How fascinating! What are sunspots? Do solar cycles have anything to do with sunspots?

Alice: Sunspots are comparatively cool, hidden features on the sun’s exterior that are usually approximately circular. Sunspots surface where thick bunches of magnetic field lines from the sun’s inside cut through the surface. Yes, solar cycles have a lot to do with sunspots. The amount of sunspots modifies as solar magnetic activity does and the difference in this number, from a minimum of none to a maximum of about two-hundred-fifty sunspots or bunches of sunspots and then back to a minimum, is identified as the solar cycle, and norms about eleven cycles long. At the end of a cycle, the magnetic field quickly changes its polarity.

Lady Wendy Weather: Wow, very impressive! Are you ready to wrap today’s interview up?

Alice; Most definitely. See you again soon, everyone!

Lady Wendy Weather: Bye, Alice. That’s a wrap for Sunny Fields’ interview. See you next time!
